What is BASE CAMP?

BASE CAMP is a weekend retreat for dads raising children or caring for loved ones with disabilities, special needs, or chronic illnesses. For nearly 10 years, Rising Above Ministries has hosted this meaningful event, offering a fun, peaceful, and safe place for dads to step away and rest, reconnect, and recharge.

Research and experience show that dads caring for loved ones with disabilities or chronic illnesses often carry big emotions but rarely have a safe place to share and process them. Many feel isolated, without a strong community of men who truly understand and can offer support.

That’s why BASE CAMP exists.

Each fall, dads from across the country come to Middle Tennessee for a weekend with men who understand their journey. They are heard, encouraged, and reminded they are not alone—finding rest, laughter, and genuine community.
